I have to interrupt my series of picture posts to bring you up to date on Micah's health! He visited his Doctor for the first time today, and the big news is: PRAISE GOD for answered prayer!! Micah is resilient, and seems to be doing much better than many kids who spend the first chunk of their little lives as he has. We have always prayed, as have many of you along with us, that our adopted children would be resilient. That is the term used for adopted children who defy all the statistics that are stacked against them. THANK YOU, LORD!!!
It looks as though both of our children may tower above their height-challenged parents. ;0) Micah is in the 85th percentile for length. His weight is only in the 45th percentile, though, and the Doc says she can tell from examining his belly that there have been times he has not had enough to eat. He also has eczema in places, from dried out skin that has not been attended. The Doc said that she is often sending babies with Micah's history off to the Attachment Therapist, Physical Therapist, etc. But tears welled up in her eyes and she just raved about how blown away she was by his development despite the circumstances he came out of.
He will have blood work done in a couple weeks, and the Doc doesn't want any of us out and about until after that time. She was not happy that I'm going to my Mom's 60th Birthday Party on Saturday, and I didn't even dare mention that Corey has been going to church... For sure, though, we will be keeping Micah under lock and key until he gets the green light from his Doc!
